Candy Cane Heart

The easiest of all Valentine's Day crafts. The materials that you need to make this wonderful candy cane heart are: two candy canes, glue and ribbon.

Take the two candy canes and using the glue inter twine them so that it acquires the shape of heart. Tie ribbons on the top and to give it a personal touch, you can also add on a personal note to it.

Pencil Mice Heart

Materials that you need: Heavy construction paper, pipe cleaners, decorated pencils, hole punch, black marker or pen.

From red, pink or purple paper, cut out several hearts approximately 4 inches across. On each, draw a nose and eyes. Punch four holes above the mouse's nose.

Thread a short length of pipe cleaner through the top two holes and another through the bottom two. Lastly, slip a pencil down behind the whiskers, from the backside of the heart.

Valentine Taper Candles

These candles are meant to spark your love life and set the mood for romance. For making these lovely candles, you need the following items: glue gun, taper candles, hearts candies, paintbrush, and mod podge.

You need to take a taper candle and with the help of glue gun, stick heart candies at the base of the candle. Place these heart candies at equidistant levels so that the candle can stand erect. With the help of paintbrush, paint thin layers of mod podge on the heart shape candies.

When you are sure that mod podge is dry then there is a need for another quoting. Repeat the process once more and then your valentine taper candles are ready to embellish your table.

Valentine Heart Necklace Craft

Materials: craft foam, plastic pony beads, plastic lacing cord (lanyard), hole punch, scissors.

Cut two identical hearts from the craft foam (about 3 inches wide). With a hole punch or nail (adult only), make holes for lacing around the edges. Be sure that the holes match on each heart. Cut a piece of plastic lacing (lanyard) long enough to sew around the edges and and tie for a necklace.

Stack the two hearts together so that the holes match. Start with the holes at the upper left side of the hearts and thread the lanyard through both holes. Pull enough lanyard through, so that the heart will end up in the middle of your necklace when all of the lacing is complete.

Thread through the remaining holes. Tie a knot one each side, directly above the heart. String a few beads on each side. Tie the ends for a necklace. Fill the pocket with stickers, candy a small toy etc.

- Add a stick-on foam heart, glitter or other additional
decoration to your necklace.

- Tracing around a heart shaped cookie cutter onto the foam will make
cutting much easier.

Use these Valentine craft ideas to either embellish your own house or to present it as a Valentines gift to the special person of your life.
